Emergency Management Area Coordinator (i.e. “Area 13 Coordinator”) Responsibilities include serving as liaison between Raleigh Division of Emergency Management and the counties of Area 13; which consist of Burke, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg and Union counties. The Area Coordinator evaluates local government emergency management programs, identifies weaknesses related to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery and assists local governments in the development of capabilities to address and strengthen those identified areas of weakness. This position also serves in a response capacity; responding routinely to emergencies and disaster situations in the assigned area. The Area Coordinator works from a home office; with limited regular supervisory oversight from the Western Branch Office. This position will be available on 1 June 2015. Systems Technician Under general supervision of the 9-1-1 Communications Operations Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating and managing the county-wide public safety radio system (800 MHz VIPER, VHF, and UHF systems, portable and mobile devices) for the County and partner agencies. The position is also responsible for coordinating the Department’s Information Technology service requirements by interfacing with County Information Technology for computer, Mobile Computing Terminal, Automatic Vehicle Location, phone system maintenance and service tickets.
