Fixed Nuclear Facility (FNF) Emergency Management Specialist Responsible for the coordination of planning and other efforts relating to the Harris Nuclear Plant located in Wake County. Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) Program guidance is adhered to, training is completed for identified agencies, plans, policies and procedures are updated and; coordinating all these efforts with other counties and the State. Each Specialist on the team has specialties but are also generalists that contribute to their peers’ programs and the overall culture of preparedness. Candidates with fixed nuclear facility off-site planning are encouraged to apply. Emergency Management Specialists are responsible for developing emergency plans through teamwork with the County’s partners, serving as the Staff Duty Officer responding to emergency incidents, contributing to maintaining the County’s emergency facilities and equipment used in emergency response; identifying public safety issues in the community, developing training and exercise programs, delivering presentations to various community groups and coordinating multiple agencies to work collectively towards a common goal.
