JOB OPENING: North Carolina Division of Emergency Management
Assistant Director – Plans and Homeland Security This position supervises the activities of five branches that coordinate programs focused on natural hazards planning, technological hazards planning, radiological emergency preparedness planning, strategic planning, and grants management. Supervises maintenance, review and update processes for the Division Continuity of Operations Plan, the State Emergency Operations Plan, the State Threat Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and the State Preparedness Report. Supervises administration of preparedness grant programs, to include developing applications, awarding funds, and financial and programmatic audits. Supervises implementation of hazardous materials emergency preparedness programs, to include Local Emergency Planning Committees, Emergency Planning Community Right to Know Act requirements and Tier II facility reporting. Supervises planning for radiological emergencies; to include administration of regional Fixed Nuclear Facility Task Forces and implementation of FEMA-graded radiological exercises and drills. Serves as State Emergency Response Team (SERT) Plans Chief during State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations for emergencies and disasters.
