Hazard Mitigation Planner The Risk Mitigation Planner provides assistance to local government officials and local emergency management agencies in the development, update and maintenance of their local Hazard Mitigation Plans pursuant to the requirements of the 44 Code of Federal Regulations section 201 and NC General Statute 166-A. This position serves on the Risk Mitigation Team and is primarily responsible for the following: providing technical assistance to local governments during development and update of their hazard mitigation plans, reviewing local hazard mitigation plans for compliance with the 44 CFR §201.6, FEMA Local Mitigation Planning Handbook, the FEMA Plan Review Guide as well as any other applicable guidance or policies prior to submission to FEMA for final review and approval.
