Associate Vice Chancellor for Safety and Security The Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Safety and Security is responsible for the plans and programs that protect lives and property, prevent accidents and incidents and preserve the learning environment and business operations of the University. Reporting directly to Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs, the AVC provides executive-level leadership to Police and Public Safety, Emergency Management and Business Continuity, Environmental Health and Safety, and Risk Management and Insurance. Additionally, the AVC collaborates with and supports the Division of Institutional Integrity on the University’s enterprise risk management (ERM) program. Safety and Security focuses on hazard-based risk identification, mitigation and controls, while ERM focuses on the University’s strategic and reputational risk assessment. The Associate Vice Chancellor also provides support and expertise to university, local, state, and federal partners.
