JOB OPENING: North Carolina Division of Emergency Management
Area 5 Coordinator Responsibilities include serving as liaison between Raleigh Division of Emergency Management and the counties of NCEM Area 5 (Brunswick, New Hanover, Columbus, Bladen, Robeson and Hoke Counties). The Area Coordinator evaluates local government emergency management programs, identifies weaknesses related to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery and assists local governments in the development of capabilities to address and strengthen those identified areas of weakness. This position also services in a response capacity for the Division of Emergency Management; responding routinely to emergencies and disaster situations in the assigned area. The Area Coordinator is subject to on-call to be dispatched to serve as a State responder to an affected county anywhere in the State or be sent on a response mission to another state through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact.
