NCEMA Fall 2019 Conference
Greetings NC Teammates!
Your North Carolina Emergency Management Association Site and Program Committees are in high gear planning an outstanding Fall Conference but there is something missing… You!
Please make plans today to attend our Fall Conference which is being held the week of November 3rd through November 6th at the Hotel Ballast, located in beautiful Wilmington, North Carolina. There will also be opportunities to attend Training Classes offered by NCEM through November 8th at the Conference Center.
If you have never been to Wilmington before then you need to experience this relaxing Cape Fear River setting at the lovely hotel and conference center. It is a great location to attend meetings, hear excellent speakers, go to training classes, eat amazing food at great nearby restaurants, sleep, and socialize before it’s time to go home.
For me, one of the most important parts of attending the NCEMA Fall Conference is the networking. That time in meetings, hallways and at breaks connecting with teammates from across the state and different sub-specialties is vital. To find out how they do things where they are from, to ask questions, to share the pain and lessons observed from the most recent incidents and discuss plans for upcoming major events. Those of you who attended Spring Conference 2019 know it was a time of collectively taking a deep breath and hearing after-action presentations on Florence, Michael, flooding and the WEG.
Still not convinced? Come and see your vendors face-to-face and put hands on that equipment you want to purchase. You might even see some things you never knew existed and get to hear about it first hand from the manufacturer or developer.
I am looking forward to resetting my flood response brain and adjusting my attitude with all of you during a few days away at the NCEMA Fall Conference. Register and make your hotel reservation today!
